Day 1

Today you will be met at Marrakech Airport and transferred to your accommodation, Ksar Anika, where you will spend 1 night. The rest of the day will be at leisure, allowing you to spend some time wandering the streets of this fascinating, fast-paced city

Day 2

Today you will depart for Ait Ben Haddou (3.30hrs). This day takes you right across the chain of the High Atlas mountains and over the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest in the whole of Africa. After perusing the unbelievable myriad of connecting passages, trek up the nearby ornate central hill and see the astonishing panoramic view of this masterpiece born from quasi-medieval power created in the 20th century.

Day 3

After breakfast at your hotel, we will depart to Ouarzazate (1hr) and take the pise (windy road) towards the Oasis of Fint passing the “Plateau de pierres”. After visiting the Oasis of Fint we will take the road to Kasbah Tifoultoute which stands majestically on the banks of Oued Tifoultoute. Afterwards you will leave Ouarzazate on a short drive to Skoura, a fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves.

Day 4

Depart for Tinghir (8hrs). Continue towards the perfumed Valley of Roses, just north of El Kelaa Des Mgouna. On the way to the Valley of Roses, you will stop for you to view the Capp et Florale distillation factories that manufacture the entire nation’s production of eau de rose.  Sip tea with the Nomads in this region of Bouthgrar before heading towards the magnificent Dades Valley and the region of the Dades Gorge. Take lunch  at a nearby guesthouse offering local Moroccan fare. You will pass the Boulmane hills so and continue the road to the Todra Gorge. and explore it by foot .

Day 5

Today you will head into the Sahara Desert to your accommodation in Merzouga (3hrs). You will be transferred to a 4×4 as you near the Luxury Desert Camp, as the road makes way for the rolling sand dunes of the Sahara.You start with the road to Erfoud, where you can visit the Royal Palace gate. Continue the road to Rissani;  visit to the Musicians of Khemlia (the driver can arrange a visit with tea if time allows on this day or the following day). Finally you arrive in Merzouga before sunset where you travel by 4×4 vehicle to drive through the dunes (not for the faint hearted) for a luxurious night in the desert.

Day 6

you will be tranaferred on to your accommodation in Fes (7hrs). Leaving the French-built town of Erfoud we travel onwards still through the small palm grove at Meski. We journey now along a bleak plain of scrub and desert to the Berber mountain town of Midelt, where we can stop for lunch (not included).We now drive through to the first real town in the Middle Atlas – Azrou. We continue on to the squeaky-clean Moroccan pseudo-Swiss town of Ifrane, After a little while longer, now only 30 minutes from Fez, we arrive at the small 1920s French-built hill station of Immouzèr du Kandar.

Day 7

Today you can tour the Mellah, the Medina and Souks, the famous Tanneries, the exquisite Mosques and Medersas, the Pottery Kilns & around the ramparts with its many Babs. Start with a drive via the Mechouer to the impressive Dar el Makhzen to stop for some 15 minutes at the Royal Palace with its magnificent seven bronze gates, to continue on to the Borj Sud for a panoramic view of the Medina

Day 8

Today is at leisure to further explore the Fes Region with your driver, or you can relax at the Riad

Day 9

Today depart Fes for the Roman archaeological site of Volubilis discover ancient olive presses, mansions, incredible mosaics, monumental arches and Corinthian columns which give a real sense of Roman lifestyle and of that of a subsequent medieval Berber town.

Day 10

Today you will drive on to your accommodation in Casablanca (1hr). Following a relaxed breakfast, the impressive Kasbah Oudayas beckon. As you walk out of the kasbah area you’ll see a lovely little street (Rue des Consuls) with lots of small shops selling aromatic spices, leather, silver, rugs and wood carvings. Tonight we recommend a dinner at the infamous Rick’s Cafe, the mythical saloon from the 1942 film “Casablanca”.

Day 11

Today you will drive on to your accommodation in Essaouira (3.30hrs). Continue down the to the city of El Jadida and continue to Safi, famed for its potteries that produce the typical brightly coloured Safi pottery.

Day 12

Today explore Essaouira. Abandoned by the Portuguese in 1541, it was not until 1765 that Essaouira, also known as Mogador, was turned into a fortified city.

Day 13

Today you depart for Taroudant. You will stop in Agadir on the way. With its miraculous climate Agadir has all the ingredients for a great seaside holiday; a marina which can receive several hundred pleasure boats, the developed coastal promenade allows you to stroll along the sea front with a complete panorama of the whole bay and the commercial port is constantly buzzing. Leaving Agadir behind, drive inland through savanna-like, irrigated landscapes and head to Taroudant, often referred to as the pearl of Souss Valley.

Day 14

Today you will drive on to your accommodation in Ouirgane (3.30hrs). The road from Taroudant to Marrakech is one of the most spectacular routes in Morocco, winding its way up the Tizi-n-Test pass, with its breathtaking views across the Souss valley to the Anti-Atlas Mountains and then down through the High Atlas Mountains, past isolated villages, eventually reaching verdant valleys leading onto the Marrakech plains

Day 15

Today you will explore the local area on foot. Set off with your Moroccan Mountain Guide towards the east through fields of corn and flowers to follow . From here we enter the immense Tassa Ouirgane Valley via a piste which leads us through more fields and orchards of apple, peach, cherry and apricot and near the vast forest of Takherkhourte until we reach our field picnic spot at the village of Tassa.

Day 16

Day at leisure to further explore the local area with your driver. At 16h00 you are booked to discover the bounty of Moroccan gastronomy at the Domaine Malika cooking class (Arabic/English) designed for anyone (beginners included) to discover the pleasures of the Moroccan table, and learn about one of the finest cuisines in the world. Please note : THE COOKERY CLASS IS NOT INCLUDED AS THE PROPERTY WILL ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT ON THE SPOT.

Day 17

Today you will drive on to your accommodation in Marrakech (1.30hrs). You will be able to see the souk (in a big dusty enclosure on your right as you head toward Marrakech) with its accompanying chaos of grand taxis, mules and minibuses. Continue through the Gorges of Moulay Brahim, then to Tahanaoute a ribbon settlement with numerous small hotels and eateries before the last stretch through new golf developments on the fringe of Marrakech leading into the hub of the medina where you have days of rest and relaxation to round up this truly epic trip.
