Weekend Rugby Tour: Antwerp, Belgium

Visit historic Ghent, Antwerp and Bruges whilst playing two rugby tournaments, enjoying some shopping and sightseeing and trying world-famous Belgian craft beer

Day 1 & 2: Arrival & rugby tournament in Antwerp

You will met at your club/school at lunchtime by one of our representatives and board the coaches going to Antwerp, travelling via Dover and Calais. On arrival at Antwerp you will check-in to a two-star hotel, in the centre of town, for 3 nights on a bed & breakfast basis. Dinner will be enjoyed en-route.

Antwerp is the real urban deal, a refreshingly down-to-earth yet vivacious cosmopolitan habitat blessed with magnificent architecture, fashionable shop fronts, great pubs, dazzling monuments, jazzed-up clubs, inspired artworks and restaurant tables piled with plates of superb Belgian and multicultural food. It also boasts a wealth of outstanding museums, galleries and beautiful architecture.

In the morning you will be transferred to Antwerp RFC, where you will play in a tournament against a couple of local teams. After a meal and prize-giving at the club, you will return to your hotel and have the evening free to explore Antwerp. There is a wide variety of excellent bars, clubs and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 3 & 4: Ghent rugby tournament & day trip to Bruges

After breakfast you will be transferred to Ghent RFC, which is less than an hour away, for a game against Ghent RFC. Lunch will be provided at the club and the bar will be open. Alternatively, during Easter, for U16-U18s, there will be a one-day tournament in Ghent with at least 3 games of 40 minutes per team. The top two teams will go into the final and play for the tournament cup. After dinner and a few hours at leisure in Ghent you will return to Antwerp for a night out.

In the morning on your last day you will be transferred to Bruges for some sightseeing and shopping before departing after lunch for home, with an early evening ferry.
