With nearly twenty courses within a short drive, Kerry offers some of the most spectacular scenery and challenging holes you are ever likely to find. To make things better, you can end the day in one of Killarney’s traditional pubs, of which there are countless, soaking up the atmosphere and chatting with the locals, who are always friendly.
Saturday: Golf at Beaufort Golf Club and mountain biking
After a substantial breakfast you will be transferred to the nearby Beaufort Golf Club for a morning tee-off, which is set at the base of Ireland’s highest mountain, Carrantouhill, and has been recently redeveloped, providing a beautiful setting for a challenging, exhilarating game of golf.
After lunch at the club you can spend the afternoon mountain-biking, after which you will be transferred back to the hotel, where you will have dinner. After dinner you are welcome to go out in Killarney, where there are bars, pubs and clubs and, on a Saturday night, is guaranteed to be lively. Sunday: Golf at Kenmare Golf Club
After a lie-in and another hearty breakfast you will be transferred to Kenmare Golf Club, a few miles to the south of Killarney, where you will have another round of golf. This course is a real test of golf in a unique environment and, while it can be very exacting for a good golfer, it is never unfair to the weak. The early holes stretch along the picturesque Roughty river estuary, while the undulating ground to the ‘new’ nine holes provides panoramic views of Kenmare bay and the Roughty Valley.
In the evening you can hit Killarney’s pubs and bars after dinner at the hotel. After check-out the next morning you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
