Rugby Tour: Rome, Italy

Visit the world-famous sites of Ancient and Renaissance Rome, play two games of rugby, try authentic Italian pizza and pasta and and spend a day at lovely Lake Albano



Day 1: Early arrival & training at Frascati

You will depart early this morning, arriving into Rome Fiumicino Airport mid-morning, where you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your accommodation for the duration of the trip, Villa Vecchia.

After lunch and a few hours spent relaxing at the hotel, there will be training in the early evening at Frascati with dinner at the hotel afterwards.




Day 2: Hadrian’s Villa & Games vs. Frascati ‘A’ & ‘B’

In the morning, you will be transferred to Hadrian’s Villa, a fascinating Roman archeological complex outside of the main city, where you will be able to wander at leisure or enjoy a guided tour. Lunch will be at the hotel.

In the evening, you will be transferred to Frascati to play games against their ‘A’ & ‘B’ teams (kicking off at 17.00 & 18.30). Dinner will be hosted by the rugby club in Frascati Old Town after the matches, with a late transfer back to the hotel.




Day 3: Lago Albano & Guided Tour of Rome

After a leisurely breakfast and morning at leisure, you will be transferred to nearby Lago Albano, where you will be able to swim and relax. Lunch will be enjoyed at Da Agnese, where you will be able to try the excellent local cuisine.

In the afternoon, you will be taken on a guided tour of the city by bus, visiting St. Peter’s Square, Venice Square, Imperial Forum, Roman Forum, Coliseum, Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, the Pyramid, Capitoline Hill, Marcello’s theatre, Caracalla’s Baths. There will be opportunities around both the Coliseum and Vatican to get out and walk around. After a few hours at leisure after the tour, you will have dinner at one of the excellent Italian restaurants near the Vatican.




Day 4: City Walking Tour & Training

After breakfast, you will drive to Rome for a walk in the historical centre, visiting the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Navona Square. After the tour, you will be able to enjoy the day at leisure in the centre, where there is a huge range of clothes shops, sports shops, restaurants and cafés.

In the late afternoon, you will re-group and board the coach to Frascati, where you will have some light training before returning to the hotel for dinner.




Day 5: Games vs. Perugia Rugby ‘A’ & ‘B’

The morning will be spent at leisure at the hotel. After lunch at the hotel, you will be transferred to Perugia Rugby Club for games against their ‘A’ & ‘B’ teams. Dinner will be provided at the rugby club after the game, with the option of an evening free in Perugia afterwards, with the coach picking the tourists up later that evening.

Guests can enjoy some last minute sightseeing and shopping the next day before a lunchtime departure to the airport for your return flight.
