Day 1-11: LUX Saint Gilles

Following your arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to the LUX Saint Gilles, where you will spend the next 10 days enjoying Réunion.

You can spend your time here relaxing on the private vanilla white sands, or lounging around the gorgeous swimming pool. Through the hotel, you can also organise plenty of activities to break the days up, including water sports, snorkelling, diving, and deep sea fishing. There are also several hiking tours available for those looking to tackle the rugged volcanic terrain, while visiting the famous Biberon Falls and the Notre Dames des Laves church, and there’s also paragliding for those seeking thrills. Helicopter tours of the western side of the island, allowing you to scan the island’s dramatic landscape from the most exhilarating viewpoint possible, can also be arranged.

Information: Réunion

Réunion is a French overseas territory, and for this reason, despite its location in the Indian Ocean, it remains a part of the Eurozone. Discovered by the Portuguese in the early 16th century, the island was then claimed by France in the middle of the 17th century, at which point it experienced an influx of colonial immigration that continued into the 19th century, including Africans, Chinese, Malays, and Malabar Indians. The new inhabitants were enslaved by the French until it was abolished on the 20th December 1848, which is a date the locals proudly continue to celebrate in “La Fête Cafre”.

As a tourist destination, Réunion is known for its tropical climate and unique volcanic landscapes, attracting not just those who wish to lounge on white sandy beaches, but adventurers and thrill seekers looking for challenging hiking trails and dramatic mountain panoramas.

Day 11: Return home

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport in order to get your flight home.
