Travel through wild Southern Argentina: start in exciting Buenos Aires before flying south to go whale-watching, marvelling at the spectacular Tierra del Fuego National Park and white-water rafting in the Lake District



Day 1 & 2: Buenos Aires

Upon arrival at Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your accommodation in the city centre. After settling in to the hotel you will be taken on a 3-hour city tour of the city. In the evening you will return to the hotel and will be able to enjoy dinner at leisure.

On your second day in Buenos Aires you will depart after breakfast for Santa Susana Ranch, where you will enjoy a day out on a farm, living the life of a gaucho cowboy and enjoying a BBQ lunch. You will return in the evening for dinner. We would recommend trying one of Buenos Aires’ top steakhouses, which the city is renowned for.

Buenos Aires is arguably the most vibrant city in South America. It’s famous for the Tango, late-night parties and its food, primarily steak, and red wine. The city is made up of a fascinating mix of European and South America cultures, creating a rich blend of traditions and styles. From touring the distinctive city districts, diverse restaurants and talking to some of the city’s people, you will hopefully be able to get a feel for this charming city. Highlights include the historic district of San Telmo, the colourful district of Boca, La Recoleta cemetery and La Casa Rosada (office of the President of Argentina).




Day 3 & 4: Península Váldes

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Península Váldes (with a stop-over in Trelew Airport). On arrival at the hotel, you will have a few hours to settle in before embarking on a visit to the Tombo Penguin Colony, a 3km beach that is used as a breeding ground for thousands of Magellanic Penguins.

On your second day here, you will be taken on a full-day tour of the peninsula, viewing the vast array of fauna on and off the coast, including sea lions, elephant seals, fur seals, the Southern Right Whale and orcas.




Info: Península Váldes

Península Váldes was listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 because of its diverse and healthy wildlife. The main attraction for tourists coming to the area is the area’s marine mammals, primarily Southern Right whales, sea lions, fur seals, elephant seals and orcas. Fascinating and endemic land mammals include the Pichi (armadillo species), wild Guanaco and the Argentine Grey Fox. Essentially the area is renowned for its wildlife viewing and is a must-visit for any widllife aficionados.




Day 5 & 6: Ushuaia, Argentina

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia. On arrival, you will be met and taken on a tour of the town, visiting the Museum of the End of the World. The evening will be spent at leisure at the hotel or out in town.

Your only full day in Ushuaia will be spent visiting Tierra del Fuego National Park, which has spectacular, other-worldly scenery and the Beagle Channel, which is also spectacular and should give you some excellent marine mammal sightings.




Day 7-10: El Calafate, Argentina

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ushuaia Airport for your flight to El Calafate. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.

During your two full days in the area, you will enjoy a full-day tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier, taking you deep into Los Glaciares National Park to enjoy the incredible glaciers and lakes of the far south. You will have your second day at leisure to hike into the wilderness, do climbing or go horse-riding.




Day 10 & 11: Bariloche, Argentina

You will depart early for your flight to Bariloche. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where you can relax for a few hours. In the afternoon you will be taken on a tour of the town and surrounding area, visiting Cerro Campanario, a viewpoint a short drive away that offers spectacular views of the lakes and mountains of the Lake District. You can either hike up (approx. 45 mins) or take the cable car. You will have the evening at leisure to wander around town and relax.

Your second day will be at leisure, allowing you to try one of the vast array of activities on offer, such as mountain-biking, climbing, hiking, horse-riding, white-water rafting and canyoning, which combines climbing, hiking and swimming through the Arroyo de la Virgen Canyon.




Day 12: Buenos Aires

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your previous hotel, with the rest of the day free to sight-see, shop, go on a tour or relax.

The next morning you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
